9 May 2015
Our fabulous fayre returns to Lewes Priory Park on Saturday May 9 2015 with a host of attractions and entertainment for all the family
Last year around 4,000 people joined in the fun which helped put our Feast of St Pancras May Fayre in Lewes on the what’s on map of Sussex
This year we have organised more exciting activities including battle-ready knights in armour who are going to be up to all sorts of tricks, a few exploding bombs, shenanigans in the wet stocks and a myriad of sports such as crossbows, cannon ball soccer, catch the mole, giant snakes and ladders and back at last - Roll the Swede!
Children will be able to try their hand at making mini mosaics, Roman-style, while the very young can search for medieval coins to add to their collections or learn how to make illuminated manuscripts and lettering.
For nature lovers the beekeeper and RSPB will be joined for the first time by Owls about Town, including feathered friends Winston, Maggie, Boris and Nigel.
Other attractions include a medieval medic who will be showing how to dress the terrible wounds medieval life can so easily inflict, a costume village and an arm wrestling championship. What’s not to love?
This is just a flavour so please join in the fun and if you fancy coming to the fayre dressed up in medieval garb or bonfire society costume then feel free. Tickets are just £2.50 per adult or £1 for those who join, in costume, the costumed march to the Fayre that leaves St Thomas, Church, Cliffe around 10.30. Children under 12 enter free.
The Fayre is open from 10.30am to 4pm. Entrance is from Cockshut Road, off Southover High Street.
